Laura Boswell - printmaker
I am a printmaker and work in linocut. I studied fine art and art history at Aberystwyth before leaving art to go into the photographic industry. Two years ago I was loaned a printing press and since then I have returned to my printmaking.
I am working as a support artist for the Aylesbury Transport Hub Project. My printmaking focuses on landscape, particularly on the shapes and forms created by local agriculture. I collect these shapes and forms and piece them together to build my images. I am fascinated by the effects of seasons and the elements on familiar landscapes and by the patterns and designs made by such elements as hedges and trees, trails and footpaths, planting and ploughing.
Aylesbury has abundant links with its rural surroundings and I would like to remind people of this with glimpses of familiar and perhaps less familiar views of their local countryside, its shapes and seasons and its ever present availability as a resource to be enjoyed.
