Aylesbury Vale District Council (in partnership with Buckinghamshire County Council, Arts Council South East, SEEDA , Aylesbury Vale Arts Council, the Artpoint Public Art Agency and Jacobs) have chosen three local artists to assist the nominated lead artist to design and propose a series public art works for Aylesbury Town Centre Transport Hub.

They looked at artists from a variety of art forms including sculpture, printmaking, graphic design, ceramics, glasswork, blacksmithing, carving, animation and new media. The three we chose are a potter, a printmaker and an artist working with glass.

The Role of the Lead Artist

The lead artist, Steve Geliot, is developing a creative framework for the permanent commissions, taking into consideration the types of artwork and locations identified by the Steering Group.

The Role of the Contributing Artists

The artists are working with members of the Design Team and contractors to the Aylesbury Transport Hub to design integrated art works to the scheme.

They are seeking to engage and include local people in the design of the Public Art works for the transport hub.
